Minnesota-based radio program SynthWaves today will premiere, “Separation,” a new song from Professor Zonic Zynth, who is covering an untitled track by the enigmatic MPM.

MPM had heard of the Professor when SynthWaves DJ Noah Kaufmann approached him with an idea: To have the Professor reinterpret one of MPM’s unreleased tracks, according to Kaufmann.

MPM approved, and the result is a dark synthwave track with a couple shades of Skinny Puppy’s brand of industrial pop/EBM, although it evokes more of a climactic warehouse battle sequence than it does poorly lit dungeons.

For those who haven’t heard of him, the Professor (AKA PZZ AKA Zonic Zynth) is the synonym of German composer, keyboarder, guitarist, editor, and sound designer Bastian Lüer.

To hear the track, check in over at the SynthWaves page on KFAI, a fantastic Minneapolis-based community radio network.
