Exclusive Stream: Daniel Davies’ New Score for ‘Soeurs de Glisse’

John Carpenter collaborator Daniel Davies has created a beautifully compelling synth-laden score for Céline Gransard’s and Kevin Zuijderhoff’s film Soeurs de Glisse, and you get to listen to all of Side A here exclusively before Burning Witches Records releases it on vinyl and digital on Friday.

This is Davies’ second release on Burning Witches Records, following last year’s excellent Events Score — his solo debut LP. About Soeurs de Glisse

Soeurs de Glisse is about two sisters from Court-Saint-Etienne (Belgium) who are getting ready for the Winter Paralympic Games in South Korea. The two skiers create a unique duo: Eléonor, visually-impaired, only has the voice of her older sister to guide her down the slopes. After four years of intense training and sacrifice, they bring home the first Belgian female medal during the Winter Games — an achievement with consequences on the duo and their respective lives.

Using vintage synths with a modern mindset on the Soeurs de Glisse (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), Davies deftly articulates the depth and breadth of the film’s tender and majestic scope.

It will be available as a webstore, limited-edition, splattered-color vinyl version, influenced by the colors of the Belgian flag (400 copies only) and a retail “mountain blue” version. It has a heavyweight sleeve with artwork design by the talented KidEthic. It includes an insert print and a download card.
