New Holodeck Records artist Omni Gardens crafts beautiful and modern New Age music that offers a sense of soothing uplift and deep contemplation sorely needed in these times. For evidence of this, check out the ethereal, trans-dimensional “Crystal Rhodes,” which premieres today in advance of the Sept. 28 release of debut album West Coast Escapism.
Omni Gardens is a new project from Moon Glyph Records founder and Oakland resident Steve Rosborough. On “Crystal Rhodes” and across West Coast Escapism, Rosborough recalls the mind-expanding sonics of the likes of fellow contemporary new-agers Seahawks, building an engaging world upon a rich tapestry of ambient synthscapes and an evocative and natural mise en scène of colorfully natural sound.
This is the latest experimental project from Rosborough, who founded Moon Glyph in 2009, releasing an array of vinyl and cassettes from a family of artists including his own erstwhile project, Soothsayer. He counts among his influences New Age pioneers such as Iasos and Steve Halpern.
The exquisitely serene West Coast Escapism will be released via Holodeck Records on Sept. 28 on cassette and in digital form.
