Miami Nights 1984 Is on the New Episode of ‘The Vehlinggo Podcast’

The Vehlinggo Podcast is back, following a hiatus that began in the Fall of 2019. The first episode of Season 5 features an extended interview with Canadian synthwave pioneer and film score composer Miami Nights 1984 (AKA Michael Glover). We discuss his score to new film Flinch and the state of the synthwave scene, along with a forthcoming studio album and other fine things. Somewhere in there, I also play music by Deadly Avenger, VHxRR, Edson Natale, and more.

Below is the Spotify embed to listen to the episode. (Make sure to FOLLOW the podcast, too.) If you don’t have Spotify, you can stream the LibSyn embed on the Podcast page or via the popular Apple Podcasts platform.

I last interviewed Miami Nights for my Drive at Five piece in 2016. In December 2017 I included a still-unreleased Miami Nights 1984 song on an official Vehlinggo Mix.

About Flinch

Flinch, directed by Cameron Von Hoy, start Daniel Zovatto, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Cathy Moriarty, Tom Segura, Buddy Duress, Steven Bauer, and David Proval. It’s about a young hitman who lives with his mother and who catches feelings for the witness of a murder he commits.

Here’s the trailer for Flinch. Below it is Glover’s score.
