PREMIERE: Hypnotic Track from ‘The Sinner’ Score by Ronit Kirchman

Today, Lakeshore Records opens up a pre-order for a soundtrack album for Ronit Kirchman’s excellent score work for Seasons 2 through 4 of USA’s popular series, The Sinner. Kirchman brings an omnipresent sense of foreboding and intrigue to the Bill Pullman-starring crime drama. Vehlinggo gives you a taste of the forthcoming album with the premiere of “The Docks Suite,” an engaging collection of synth and orchestral cues compiled into one moving track.

The Sinner (Original Series Soundtrack – Seasons 2-4) showcases the key themes and cues from the past three seasons of the anthology series. By collecting those key elements from across the seasons, the listener gets a cool look at how each has its own musical experience. Because of the nature of show — different characters and storylines for each season with Pullman gluing it all together — it makes more sense for each run to have its own musical language.

“The show has been an incredible landscape to work within as a composer,” Kirchman said in a statement. “It’s saturated with deep subconscious hues and a wide dynamic range of emotional tones for the music to express. One of the unique aspects of this show is that it’s an anthology with continuity. Each season has invited its own specific language and instrumental palette, which also fits into a larger picture of the series arc. As a result, I can look and listen back on the whole series as an integrated musical journey.”

The album releases next Friday, Feb. 18, but you can pre-order the album today. While you wait for the full release, check out this interview Kirchman did with Vehlinggo earlier on in the show’s run. The show finished up its four-season run on USA late last year and that final season is available now in the UK on Netflix.

For those who aren’t caught up on the fourth and last season, here’s a synopsis: Still reeling from the trauma of a previous case a year ago, the now-retired Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) travels to Hanover Island in northern Maine for a recuperative getaway with his partner, Sonya (Jessica Hecht). When an unexpected tragedy occurs involving the daughter of a prominent island family, Ambrose is recruited to help the investigation, only to be thrown into a mystery of mounting paranoia that will turn this sleepy tourist island, and Ambrose’s life, upside down.
