Chromatics Debut First ‘Dear Tommy’ Single

I’m a little late to this (I got caught up with working on some other cool stuff), but a couple days ago Italians Do It Better head Johnny Jewel posted on his SoundCloud page the cut “Just Like You,” the first single from Chromatics’ forthcoming Dear Tommy album.

It’s a gorgeous, cinematic slow-burner that along with the 8-track demo of “Shadow” forecasts a pronounced David Lynch vibe on the followup to Kill For Love. I think that spending time working with Ryan Gosling on his directorial debut must have rubbed off on Jewel et al.

Dear Tommy is slated for a March release, and until then IDIB will debut a single a week.

From Chromatics’ Facebook page:

“I’M SO HAPPY TO SHARE THE FIRST SINGLE OFF OF “DEAR TOMMY” TODAY. GOING TO BE RELEASING A SINGLE A WEEK UNTIL THE ALBUM COMES OUT IN MARCH. I FUCKING LOVE THIS RECORD SO MUCH & I AM LITERALLY FOAMING AT THE MOUTH TO SHARE IT WITH YOU. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD “JUST LIKE YOU” ON MY SOUNDCLOUD. THE SINGLE & THE INSTRUMENTAL ARE UP ON ITUNES, & COMING ON SPOTIFY ANY MOMENT NOW.
