‘Follow’ Drinker into the Realm of Haunting Beauty

Today, Drinker releases the haunting, slow-burner “Follow,” which taps into the dark and electronic-tinged vibe that the duo established on their No.1 Hype Machine remix of Memoryy’s “Not Over You” for the upcoming Vehlinggo Presents release.

On “Follow,” the duo of Aaron Mendelsohn and Ariel Loh have crafted a warm, sacred meditation on the complexity of interpersonal relationships. A syncopated drum machine, minimalist electronics, distant guitars, and Mendelsohn’s tempered pipes power this candlelit night music.

It won’t be long before you’re singing the chorus along with Mendelsohn and abiding its call: “If I can make you follow/I think that we might find our way/If I can make you follow/Even only for today.”

“Follow” is the first single from an upcoming LP.

For more on Drinker, here’s an interview with them from last summer, when they released the Happy Accident EP. Also, don’t forget to read an interview with Loh, who tells the story behind his score for indie-horror film The Eyes of My Mother.
