PREMIERE: Mr. Eff’s Viscerally Contemplative “Confess”

A new Mr. Eff album is definitely a cause for celebration. On “Confess,” the new single from the forthcoming Nostalgia Confessions, the enigmatic producer blends deep contemplations with a brilliantly kinetic dance-floor banger. Vehlinggo premieres Audrey Ellis Fox’s stylishly provocative video here today.

Heavier and more atmospheric than previous LP Eyes Down, Mr. Eff looks within to achieve a record replete with big questions and existential reflection. Nevertheless, as mentioned above, he doesn’t lose sight of the propulsive rhythmic vision of his previous work. It’s a gift when an artist can cultivate a sense of introspection and extroversion concurrently.

Nostalgia Confessions is out tomorrow via the inimitable Burning Witches Records, both digitally and as a limited edition vinyl. There are two variants: a translucent fluorescent iteration with insert print and download card (that includes extra cuts) and a special edition fluorescent green marble version with the same accoutrements (though limited to 100 copies). Along for the ride is Kid Ethic, with his characteristically compelling artwork. To buy it tomorrow, hit up the BWR website.
