WATCH: New Johan Agebjorn & Mikael Ogren ‘Space Travel’ Video

Sweden-based Johan Agebjörn and Mikael Ögren work so well together. Their ambient electronic compositions are an assertive cascade of engaging synths and tight rhythms that are laced with melody, heart, and deep contemplation. Vehlinggo is proud to premiere the video for “Space Travel,” a banger of a track from their new album Artefact, which releases tomorrow via Spotted Peccary Music.

The video, featuring animations by Daniel Pipitone, is a lot of fun. It showcases Agebjörn (AKA one half of Sally Shapiro) and Ögren performing their rich tapestries on synths with cuts to colorful animations that underscore the courage and audacity of galactic ambition. Specifically, according to Spotted Peccary, “Space Travel” is “an unofficial soundtrack inspired by Arthur C. Clarke’s classic novel Rendezvous with Rama, where the artists explore another wilderness: the unknowable vastness of space.”

Pre-orders (digital and CD) and pre-saves for Artefact are available now. You can also buy some merch featuring Klian Eng’s amazing album art.

ICYMI: Do check out the duo’s 2017 masterpiece, We Never Came to the White Sea, which is reviewed here. They also know their way around 1990s trance. You can also find an Agebjörn cut on the 5 Years comp.
